    Great collection, and I can personally recoment Farquhar’s history: picked it up at a library sale last year and ripped through it. Don’t know about the Clyde bio, but the blurb raises some doubts: it touts that 1920 trip as if it were some kind of pioneering achievement. In fact it was a Sierra Club outing, and the John Muir Trail had been known as such for five years.
