When I was on the trail, I found I that I would wake up everyday at 6 am and was in bed around 7:30. This seemed to be my naturally pattern. In the am, I would pack and eat breakfast. No matter how I tried, I always hit the trail at 7:30 am. After a week or so, I just accepted that fact. I would finish each day around 4pm, any time after that was just pushing my body to hard.

Hi Ray. This is truly the way I like to hike. If I push too hard it is just not an
enjoyable way to spend what little time I have in MY favorite place.
If I might ask, about what is your average miles per day? I am 68 and the ole
legs are not what they used to be.:-(

Love your schedule. I am a trout hunter so September 2018 liberally sprinkled with stops for rest and wetting the line. Thx for your insights … more helpful than you realize! Dr Bob and Ben (border collie on the mountain)
